Help:Publication Identifier

REQUIRED FIELD

The Publication Identifier is used within the web site links to your survey to identify which survey to send your users to. This field may only contain a-z, A-Z (letters), 0-9 (numbers), _ (underscore), - (hyphen), and . (period).

You will probably want to use a descriptive name here, but the value doesn't matter as long as it is unique within your plan and you don't mind it appearing in the web site link. For instance, if you were running a marketing survey, you might want to set this to 'marketing'. The link to your survey would then look like:

http://surveyfactory.net/s/123/marketing

123 represents your Plan ID. If you have an account that includes domain name hosting, we can determine your plan from the domain name, so your survey link would look something like:

http://survey.example.com/s/marketing

Please note that each time you publish a survey it must have a unique Publication Identifier that is not used by any other surveys in your plan. You should also realize that if you change this after you have already published links to your survey, users will no longer be able to access this publication using the old links. Therefore, it is a good idea to stick with the identifier you have chosen once you begin to collect responses.
