Constant sum questions require the survey respondent to enter numbers into several answer fields, which are then added together. These options allow you to set the range for the sum total.

As an example, if the survey respondent was asked to enter the average amount of time they spend per day on a variety of tasks, you can set the range of acceptable sum totals between 0 and 24 hours, by setting the sum total to be at least 0 and at most 24.

To limit the sum total to an exact number, set the minimum and maximum acceptable sum total to the same number.
