Dates and Times
ARTICLE

The Dates and Times question type asks the respondent to enter a date with separate year, month and day fields. It also includes a pop-up date selector to make their selection easier. You can restrict the appropriate dates in order to make sure the respondent doesn't choose dates that would not be possible answers to the question.

Whenever you need to collect a birth date, an appointment time or any data where a correct date is essential, the Dates and Times question type will fit your needs.

[edit] Common Issues

[edit] Configure the starting and ending year in menu

For dates and time answers that are in the menu format (using select boxes in most templates), a specific available range of years must be selectable. This format is not as flexible as a text field, since all of the year options must be available in the select box. By default, our standard templates will offer selectable years in the range from -100 years to +10 years of the current date.

If your question needs to accept input that is outside of those bounds, the default templates will all set the range of the year select box based on any date restrictions you have set for a specific answer. In the question editor, select an answer and click the Restrict Response option. Entering a valid date into either of these restrictions will set that end of the range of available years in the selection menu.
